Fish Health Technician,  Port Alberni, BC
Cermaq Canada is seeking to fill the position of a full-time Fish Health Technician within the Fish Health Department. As a Fish Health Technician, you will report directly to the Fish Health Manager. The key function of this role will be to provide operational support to the Fish Health Manager and the Boot Lagoon Hatchery based out of Port Alberni, BC.
In addition to hatchery-based accountabilities which include monitoring and reporting on fish health issues, implementing control measures, and advising management on environmental and biological aspects of the hatchery operations, the successful candidate must also be capable of supporting other Fish Health department projects, initiatives and/or work assignments.

Freshwater Hatchery Technician, Full-time temporary, located in Fanny Bay, BC 
Cermaq Canada is currently looking to fill the full-time temporary role of a Freshwater Hatchery Technician 3 to our team in Fanny Bay, BC from October 2020, to February 2021. 

This position is responsible for general hatchery husbandry operations, including incubation, water quality monitoring, mortality removals, various fish handling projects and spawning related activities. This is a broodstock specific site, however broodstock specific experience is not mandatory.

This position is temporary and full time, operating on a 40 hour week, five days on, two days off schedule and is not camp based. Possible overtime may be required depending on business needs.

Saltwater Husbandry Technician, multiple roles, multiple locations

Hoping to start or further develop your aquaculture career?  Cermaq Canada is currently looking for multiple full-time permanent Saltwater Husbandry Technicians to join our saltwater production team. We have opportunities at our sea sites located across Vancouver Island with company provided transportation from various Island communities.

As a Husbandry Technician you’ll play a critical role in growing healthy salmon in a sustainable manner.  You’ll spend the majority of your day outside on the water caring for the fish.  This role is the perfect opportunity to satisfy your love of the outdoors, expand your husbandry skills, and contribute to local communities through sustainable aquaculture. Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma or degree in aquaculture.  If you are a team player who is physically fit, enjoy being outside in all weather conditions, and have a passion for sustainable aquaculture, then we want to hear from you!
